Fighting Illini Energy Changes
There are a few changes to Fighting Illini Energy that we would like you to be aware of.
Since April of 2011, when Fighting Illini Energy was introduced as the Official Electricity Sponsor of the Fighting Illini, Champion Energy Services has served as the program's retail electricity provider. Unfortunately, Champion has chosen to no longer participate in the Fighting Illini Energy program and therefore, as of February 24th, Fighting Illini Energy will no longer be powered by Champion Energy Services.
What does this mean for current customers?
If you are currently a customer with Fighting Illini Energy, you will continue to be billed as normal with one minor change; your bill will no longer be branded as Fighting Illini Energy. Starting this month, your electricity bill will be directly from Champion Energy Services. Please rest assured that you will not lose power during this transition phase. You will continue to receive the same electricity service and your price per kWh will not change until your current contract end date.
Also, Fighting Illini Energy will proudly continue to fulfill our commitment to the Fighting Illini and make the guaranteed contributions to the University of Illinois on your behalf, through the end of your contract. Thank you for your understanding and allowing Fighting Illini Energy to power your home.
What happens to Fighting Illini Energy?
We are working diligently to partner with a new retail electricity provider with the intent to be available to Fighting Illini fans in the near future. We will keep you apprised of new developments with Fighting Illini Energy and look forward to again offering Fighting Illini fans a great product at a great price that supports the University of Illinois.
